Opis

The youth training and community center Hirschluch is part of the project structure of the association for youth welfare services and social work (JuSeV - view to coordinating organisation) in the department of non-formal education and international cooperation; it is located in a small town called Storkow, about 60 km southeast of Berlin. About 30 employees work there in the areas of administration, kitchen, housekeeping and pedagogy. Throughout the year, we are primarily visited by young people from the Brandenburg region, but we also host guests of all ages from Berlin, Brandenburg and further afield. General duties: Grounds maintenance and housekeeping, kiosk operations, kitchen, assisting with workshops and educational events. Cross-departmental volunteers develop and supervise a self-selected annual project in the area of sustainability.

Smještaj, hrana i prijevoz

The volunteer will be accommodated in a single room (shared bathroom and kitchen) near the educational center in Hirschluch. The volunteer will receive food allowance ca (285,00 €) and pocket money ca (180,00 €) and should cook for themselves. Storkow is situated 60 km far from Berlin. There is a train which runs every hour to Berlin and takes about 1 hour.

Osposobljavanje tijekom aktivnosti

Volunteers are required to participate in two seminars, namely the on-arrival and mid-term seminars. These seminars are organized by the German National Agency and are essential for the volunteers' experience and development. Additionally, as part of the program, volunteers will also be enrolled in a 4-week German course in Berlin. Furthermore, volunteers will have the opportunity to take part in international youth projects. These projects will be hosted either in Storkow or in another partner country.

Profil sudionika

Volunteers will be selected on the basis of the applications received (motivation letter and CV). Please send you CV and ML to volunteering@jusev.de. Criteria for the volunteering are: openness, communication skills, responsibility, reliability, fun to work with people and previous social engagement in their home country. Experience in working with people, manual skills, environmental awareness / nature protection, as well as basic knowledge of the German language is an advantage but not compulsory. Gender, nationality, religion and degrees or certificates are irrelevant.
