Description
The SOS project wants to welcome a new volunteer for activities mainly with children and young for activities such as summer daily centres and educational centres. The volunteer could also be involved in other activities with people with disabilities (daily centres), older people and the Margherita's social bar "Bargherita". Margherita, in fact, is a social cooperative from Sandrigo that works with these 3 target groups. The project wants to welcome a volunteer for 314 days (approximately 10 months) and the position is already available. The volunteer will carry out the project with 5 other volunteers always welcomed by Margherita but who are included in other services.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
All Margherita's volunteers are hosted in a shared apartment located in Sandrigo (VI), close to Margherita headquarters, where they live together in shared rooms. The selected apartment is provided with 1 kitchen, 1 dining/living room, 2 bathrooms, 3 shared rooms, lumber-room, 2 terraces, 1 garage. The flat is furnished and have free Wi-Fi connection. Food-money and pocket money: Volunteers will receive each month a food allowance and a pocket money. Trasport arrangements: Sandrigo is connected through bus services to the two main cities of the region: Vicenza and Bassano del Grappa.
Training during the activity
The project envisions three phases: 1. Before leaving with the pre-departure training in which all the information about the project, the info-kit and the ESC programme, mission and values are provided. The volunteering agreement and the administrative support (flight booking, travel itinerary planning, etc.). are discussed. 2. Once in Italy, volunteers participate to formal and informal training opportunities, and the mentor assures the correct application of the Training and Evaluation Cycle. 3. Back in their countries, volunteers are supported in capitalizing the experience.
Participant profile
Participants have to be: * Interested in the project and its activities, and the opportunity to spend time in Italy. * Interested in volunteerism and solidarity. * Motivated to realize solidarity activities to bring a change at community level contributing to more inclusive cities. * Aware of EU solidarity corps mission, values and principles. * Interested in developing intercultural skills, and promote EU values. * Open-minded and interested in entering in relationships with others. No previous qualifications, educational level, experiences or language knowledge is required.
