You're motivated, you've got a zest for life and you like to create a good atmosphere and spread cheer? Are you a self-starter with initiative? Do you speak a bit of French ? Join the adventure of La petite cantine! The social goals of our Petite Cantine : - make sustainable food accessible - fight against loneliness - build quality relationships with local residents. We are looking for two European volunteers to join the team and help running the canteen: - prepare the canteen and welcome guests - run the participative kitchen, suggest recipes - lead conversations, act as a link between guests so that no one is left alone - look after supplies and collecting unsold food - promote the canteen in the neighbourhood - make personal suggestions based on your talents and interests - help organizing the kitchen and participate to the daily cleaning process. And, of course, sharing experience of your country, language, culture and cuisine!
Apgyvendinimas, maitinimas ir transportas
The volunteer will live in a shared apartment with other young people in a student residence. The volunteer will have an individual room and access to a kitchen (with a food allowance). The residence is near a metro station. A public transportation card or a membership card for the city bike (Vélov’) will be provided. According to the ESC program, a small allowance is provided for personal expenses.
Mokymas veiklos laikotarpiu
The volunteer will have access to linguistic support (online platform and French class depending on needs and availabilities). Also, they will attend to the trainings organised by the National Agency (on arrival training and mid-term training). The volunteer will have a tutor and and ESC coordinator. In addition, 3 following meetings with them, the tutor and ESC coordinator will be organized along their mission. A YouthPass training will be organized by FOL69. This mission requires a strong interest in social interaction, community-building, and teamwork. La Petite Cantine is a participatory, inclusive community restaurant where volunteers, neighbors, and guests cook and eat together. Because of this unique environment, the mission involves daily contact with a wide variety of people, including individuals experiencing social or economic vulnerability, loneliness, or disabilities. A caring and respectful attitude is essential. The rhythm of the mission can vary. During busy cooking and service periods, the atmosphere can be fast-paced and sometimes stressful. Volunteers need to feel comfortable working in a dynamic environment, supporting the team, and communicating clearly with guests and staff. • You speak a bit of French ? (minimum B1 level) • You are resident in a EU country • Available for 10 months from September 2026. This mission is open to 2 volunteers as a pair. A French civic service volunteer will also be part of the team.
