The hosting organization is a private Montessori school for 6 to 14 years old students. In the school, students can develop their own potential and are guided lovingly and respectfully on their way to become responsible, independent, and respectful adults. Children learn creatively and freely according to Maria Montessori's Ideas. During a typical day at school there are two working times based on a "room principle": the children decide in which "room" they want to be during the whole "free working time", and can both participate in presentations of their peer as well as work with the material, depending on their interests. The school has at its disposal a variety of "rooms": maths, sciences, German, arts and crafts, sports, music and foreign languages. The students meet daily with their tutor and discuss both personal and ongoing debates. They frequently go to the woods for walks and to carry out different outdoor activities, in constant connection with the nature.
Apgyvendinimas, maitinimas ir transportas
The accommodation for you will be set with a host family related to the school, as the parents are involved in the school routine by preparing lunch with the students. You'll receive a pocket money, a food allowance and transportation tickets. You can also have your lunch at school, which is vegetarian, seasonal, biological and fresh. E.U. covers the travel from Italy to Austria and back. Your working hours will be: Monday to Friday from 7:45 till 14:00 + meetings. Consider to coordinate your program vacations with the official Austrian holiday periods (Christmas, Easter, White week...).
Mokymas veiklos laikotarpiu
You will attend three official training sessions: a pre-departure training before leaving Italy; a so-called “on-arrival training” in a few weeks after your advent in Austria; a “mid-term training”, around at half of your volunteering experience. You will be supporting the teachers' team in its work and routine, doing also other enriching activities, such as taking part in educational projects, participating in national events, sharing the customs, traditions and life-style from your home country and helping in the kitchen together with a pedagogue. Kreamont school enjoys every year the support of a person from abroad, who enriches its daily life with new perspectives, customs and ways of seeing and understanding life. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic volunteers interested in working with children and who enjoy the Montessori methods and a school which works in deep and pure contact with nature! You must have a good command of English, and willingness to learn German attending formal classes during your stay. A good amount of creativity completes your profile.
