4 European Youth Goals- Teams Volunteering
ASSOCIACAO CHECK-IN - COOPERACAO E DESENVOLVIMENTO
Associação Check-IN
Beja, Portugal
Descrição
Volunteers will collaborate in the creation and development of educational and interactive games for a space within the association called the European Centre. These games will aim to promote learning, creativity, teamwork, and knowledge about European topics among young people. In the first phase, volunteers will plan, design, and produce different types of games (for example: board games, quizzes, group dynamics, or other educational games). During this process, they will have the opportunity to work as a team, develop creative ideas, and adapt the games to a young audience. After the games are created, volunteers will organize and facilitate sessions with local young people, presenting and sharing the games at the European Centre. These activities will encourage intercultural interaction, youth participation, and a positive environment for non-formal learning.
Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte
Volunteers will share a house for one month with other volunteers and students. This shared living environment will encourage cultural exchange, teamwork, and the development of social and communication skills. Volunteers will have the opportunity to experience communal living, share daily responsibilities, and interact with people from different cultural backgrounds.
Formação durante a atividade
Initial orientation: Volunteers receive a comprehensive orientation about the project, their responsibilities, expectations, rules and regulations, as well as information about the host organization and the community in which they will be working. As volunteers may work in multicultural contexts and deal with people from different backgrounds and cultures, intercultural training is often offered to help them understand and respect cultural differences, promote intercultural sensitivity and avoid misunderstandings.
Perfil do participante
We are looking for motivated and open-minded young people who are interested in working with youth and participating in creative and educational activities. Participants should be willing to collaborate in a team, share ideas, and actively contribute to the development of games and activities for local young people. No specific experience is required, but an interest in creativity, education, intercultural exchange, and non-formal learning is important. Volunteers should be proactive, responsible, and open to meeting new people and experiencing a different culture. Basic communication skills in English are recommended in order to collaborate with other volunteers and local participants. Enthusiasm, flexibility, and a positive attitude are highly valued.
