Description
The activity is shared between different structures within the city: college, city youth service, and twinning commitee. The Collège Lottin de Laval is committed to a double dynamic: to a process of innovation in its school practices and to a new Erasmus+ strategy. The volunteer will contribute to: - promote the brand new European club leading activities to discover European culture and to initiate a dynamic of openness within the college, using media like web tv, radio... - Support the dynamics of Erasmus school exchanges by taking part in the organization of mobilities and events, facilitating online meetings, sharing multimedia contents. - Help providing a dynamic, fun and educational schooltime outside the classroom: tutoring, games, cultural activities. With the city Youth Service, you participates in welcoming children on Wednesdays . With the twinning committee you contribute to various events, to the organization of mobility programs and welcoming German and English partners.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Orbec is a medieval town (2,000 inhabitants) located in Normandy, in the heart of the Pays d’Auge, providing a typical Norman atmosphere. 75km away from Caen. The train station in Lisieux (20 minute drive/bus from Orbec) offers a direct connection to Paris in less than 2 hours. Your accomodation is an Equipped big flat attached to the college. It is located on the heights of the town close to the forest and with a nice point of view upon the valley. 10 minutes walk from all the locations included in the activity.
Training during the activity
Teachers in the school each have a tablet and the AirServer software has been installed in classrooms. We have tablets to use with students. The school has web TV equipment, and many teachers have been trained in its use. The school has acquired virtual reality headsets.The teacher in charge of the Europe club, who is used to using digital resources, could train the volunteer in their use. The volunteer can then use his skills to contribute to the construction of multimedia content (web TV, radio, etc.) assisting teachers or animators during sessions that require these resources.
Participant profile
To feel the most comfortable in this volunteering experience, the young person should : be interested in European issues, be creative and interested in playing and discovering educative digital tools, enjoy intergenerational contact, especially the company of children and adolescents, be comfortable leading group activities, be adaptable and sociable, have a basic knowledge in french, be ready to live in a rural town.
