Care and working center Tončka Hočevar is a social welfare institution for adults with intellectual disabilities. We have two main programs. First is providing suitable work for adult with intellectual disabilities. We have different workshops, where they do different sort of employment. This allows them to maintain their skills, learn new one and are involved in the local environment. We also have residential homes, were they can live independently as possible. Employees provide them with support only where they need it. Beside the workshops and living we organize numerous other activities: we take trips, attend events, celebrate birthdays... We are also active in the field of sports, attending competitions under the organisation of the Special Olympics. Volunteers will play important role in working in workshops and organizing leisure activities by creating new activities that will have the purpose of promoting a healthy life and maintaining skills.
Apgyvendinimas, maitinimas ir transportas
Volunteer will live in single bedroom in student apartment in Ljubljana with other volunteer or students, near our centre. Kitchen, bathroom and laundry facility will be shared with other volunteers or students. Volunteer will also receive 200€ per month for food and basic necessities and pocket money in the amount od 150€. He will receive a city bus ticket for transportation to work. We will reimurse trevel expenses from volunteers home to Ljubljana within ESC limits.
Mokymas veiklos laikotarpiu
The volunteer will attend training upon arrival an mid term training.
Dalyvio profilis
We are looking for young people who are open-minded and communicative. Who are creative, self-motivated and proactive. It is desired to have handwork skills or other talents (dancing, cooking, music, sport). Volunteer should like to work with adults with special needs.
