Let's volunteer in Citrus!
SOLIDARITES JEUNESSES MCP
Citrus - Délégation Régionale de Solidarités Jeunesses en Midi-Pyrénées
Laguépie, France
Description
Solidarités Jeunesses (SJ) is a national movement of non-formal education comprising a national secretariat in Paris and eight regional delegations across France. Our delegations host international volunteers throughout the year. Each project is dedicated to actions of solidarity and collective living. We believe that cultural exchanges are a key for personal learning and for the volunteer to experiment and undergo personal development. Citrus specializes in hosting international workcamps and youth exchanges for teenagers and young adults from Europe and beyond. These projects emphasize open-minded multicultural collaboration, peace, solidarity, and meaningful contributions to local communities. Outside of these events, daily life involves teamwork with volunteers from various countries, maintaining the house, creating an organic garden, and supporting local organizations. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
You will live in a house with about 3 other volunteers. The house has every commodity necessary for a comfortable life. You might share your room with another volunteer. One of the objectives of the project is to live together, to share this space with respect for everyone. Grocery shopping and cooking are done by volunteers; the organisation provides food money. The house is located in the picturesque mountainous countryside of southern France, in Laguépie. In the village, there is a train station with the regular connection to Toulouse, the nearest major city.
Training during the activity
You will work about 35 hours per week; the work is varied, and you will get the support of the staff. Organising workcamps and youth exchanges is our priority, so you will get the necessary training on that topic. As ESC you will attend two seminars organised by the French agency as well.
Participant profile
We invite any person who is interested in event organisation, working with teenagers and young people, gardening, craftsmanship, or just those who are open to unique experiences far away from the hustle of city life. Having a driving licence is HIGHLY recommended. What matters the most for us though is your motivation and openness to live and work alongside all the types of different people.
