Description

The "Kita Polyglott" is a multilinguday care centre located near the forest of Karlsruhe. The centre welcomes 40 children in the age of 2 months to 3,5 years. The main focus of the day care centre is the linguistic education: the centre hosts two bilingualGerman/English groups and two German/French groups. A various program for the children is offered. The main goal is that the interests of the children are being supported by the educators and the volunteers. Lunch and snack are provided for the childran and also for the volunteers. Your tasks will be mainly supporting the educators, helping tidying up after eating and integrating in a multilingual professional environment. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will be accommodated in a shared house with other ESC volunteers. You will have your own room and share the common areas, experiencing an international community life. The house is located right next to the city and has tram and train stations at walking distance. You will receive approx. 500 € pocket money and food allowance every month. You will also have a card to travel for free in whole Germany with public transports during the entire project. Training during the activity

You will follow a 60-hours German course in group with other ESC volunteers. You will take part to one seminar of 1 week: here you will meet other ESC volunteers in Germany, share your experiences, learn and talk about the main concepts of the European Solidarity Corps. You will learn about both local and international cultures by attending a cycle of intercultural meetings during the working hours. Participant profile

• At least 18 years old • Interest in educational work and in all its aspects • Interest in working with children in age 0-3 • Some knowledge of English and possibly French, basic skills in German would be helpful but aren’t mandatory • having an accredited sending organization • Open to get to know Germany and German culture, sharing an international environment.
