For over 35 years, GDCA has focused on providing education and opportunities to vulnerable and marginalized groups. This mission emphasizes youth and women empowerment as a foundation for an equitable society. The volunteer will promote human rights, leadership, and economic independence by helping participants identify resources to become entrepreneurs and active citizens. As a Youth and Women Empowerment Assistant, the volunteer will play a key role in programs centered on education, employability, and well-being. Responsibilities include engaging and motivating participants, conducting community outreach, and advocating for social change. The volunteer will support technical and vocational training while monitoring program success through surveys and reports. By fostering social cohesion and enhancing employability, the volunteer will ensure a lasting positive impact.

Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte

GDCA organizes accommodation as close to the office as possible, typically a self-contained apartment featuring soft furnishings and individual bathroom facilities. Basic kitchen facilities are provided for meal preparation. GDCA covers transport for official duties and project-related travel. However, costs for personal movement and daily food will be borne by the volunteer, managed within the financial framework and monthly allowance provided by the volunteer program agreement. The living arrangement ensures a private and functional base for the volunteer for the duration of the mission.

Formação durante a atividade

This mission is part of the BRIDGE project, focusing on resilience, innovation, and gender equality. The volunteer will work on empowering vulnerable communities through digital skill enhancement and participation in UN Women Summits. Training includes an introduction to youth and women empowerment, gender diversity, and social cohesion. Modules also cover leadership, decision-making, health, safety, and financial literacy. The volunteer will also receive guidance on risk management and animating digital workshops to ensure they are fully prepared to support the community’s economic deve

Perfil do participante

Candidates must be 18 to 35, reside in an eligible country (EU, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Turkey), and have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training. A degree in Social Work, Gender Studies, or Community Development is preferred. The volunteer should have experience working with youth or women in educational or NGO settings. Required skills include strong communication, empathy, and cultural sensitivity. The volunteer must be organized, capable of problem-solving, and familiar with gender equality frameworks. Total EU volunteering duration cannot exceed 12 months.
