Over 35 years GDCA has mapped out long-term prospects to raise funds and resources to ensure its continuous existence in bringing education and opportunities to the vulnerable and marginalized in society. Youth and women empowerment is essential for an equitable society. The volunteer will support individuals and communities by promoting human rights, leadership, and economic independence. They will help youth and women identify resources and opportunities, enabling them to become leaders, entrepreneurs, and active citizens. The Youth and Women Empowerment Assistant will play a key role in implementing programs focused on education, employability, and well-being. Roles: Engage and motivate participants Community outreach and advocacy Support technical and vocational training Monitor and evaluate programs through surveys and reports GDCA provides training to enhance employability and social cohesion, ensuring a lasting positive impact on communities

Alloggio, vitto e trasporto

GDCA will organize accommodation close the office as possible, comprising a self-contained apartment with soft furnishing and with individual bath and toilet facilities. Basic kitchen facilities will be provided. GDCA will provide transport for official duties. The personal movement and food of the volunteer will be borne by the volunteer under the framework of the agreement of the volunteer programme.

Formazione durante l'attività

This opportunity is part of BRIDGE project (Building Resilience, Innovation, Development and Gender Equality), in which volunteers will have the opportunity to work on a common objective: empowerment and skills development of vulnerable communities, with a focus on women groups and enhance digital skills, participante in UN Woman Summits and animating digital workshops. In addition: Introduction to youth and women empowerment; Gender, diversity and social cohesion ; Leadership and decision-making; Health, safety and well-being; Financial literacy and economic; Risk management.

Profilo del partecipante

Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months. Qualifications and Skills: 1. Appreciated Educational Qualifications : Degree in social work, Gender Studies, Community Development, Education, Sociology, Psychology, or any related field. 2. Desirable Experience: - Experience working with youth or women in a developmental or educational capacity is highly desirable - Experience in program implementation, community outreach, or working with marginalized or vulnerable groups is an advantage. - Previous experience in non-governmental organizations (NGOs), social enterprises, or governmental projects related to gender equality or youth development is a plus. 3. Skills and Competencies: Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, including youth, women, and community leaders, both verbally and in writing. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize activities, and stay organized in a dynamic work environment. Interpersonal Skills: Empathy, active listening, and the ability to establish rapport with youth and women participants. Leadership and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team and support group activities, as well as assist in leading community-based projects. Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Ability to assess challenges, provide solutions, and support participants through difficulties. Cultural Sensitivity: Awareness and respect for cultural differences, especially when working with marginalized or underserved populations. Data Management Skills: Experience in collecting, organizing, and analyzing program data for monitoring and evaluation purposes. Knowledge of Youth and Women’s Rights: Familiarity with relevant local and international frameworks and laws on youth and women’s empowerment, gender equality, and social justice.
