Our volunteering is a European Solidarity Corps project, addressed to young people coming from different countries. The project promotes social inclusion, equal opportunities and solidarity values, by involving young volunteers in supporting some local centers with people with disabilitiess, socially disadvantaged people, or associations committed to promoting environmental sustainability and inclusiveness. The volunteers will also participate in the preparation, development and implementation of non-formal educational activities on different topics (such as citizenship, sport, arts, culture, sustainable mobility, young entrepreneurship, human rights etc) for young people (kids, people in needs, migrants, people with disabilities, NEETs ecc.) implemented by CESIE and its local network. Each volunteer will be involved for 30-35 hours per week (from Monday to Friday).
Cazare, hrană și transport
CESIE will provide accommodation for all the ESC volunteers. They will be hosted in an apartment located in a city center in Palermo and they will share the room with another volunteer of the same gender. The costs of meals are covered by CESIE. Most of the local organisations that volunteers will implement their activities are located in the city center. In the case of far distances, CESIE will cover the costs for public transportation.
Formare pe durata activității
Upon their arrival, the group of volunteers will take part in an on-arrival training provided by CESIE in Palermo. Volunteers will also take part in an on-arrival training and mid-term evaluation provided by Italian National Agency. Moreover, volunteers will also have the opportunities to participate in a mid-term evaluation with CESIE. They will also have the opportunity to attend an online linguistic course and in case 40 hours of optional Italian language course in Palermo at the Italian language institute.
Profilul participantului
18 -30 years old - a basic level of English, strong motivation and interest to work in a team with the different target groups (children, migrants, adults with disability, etc..); basic experiences or motivation in working with minors and young people. Availability for the whole period of mobility.
