Beyond the Classroom: Long term volunteering for Innovation in Education
CENTRUM INICJATYW MIEDZYKULTUROWYCH HORYZONTY
Fundacja edukacyjna Ferajna
Poznań, Poland
Description
Do you love working with kids or organizing creative projects? As a volunteer, you'll be leading fun and engaging non-formal education activities. What makes this opportunity special is our focus on alternative education with an individual approach to each child. You'll be working in an environment that values creativity, empathy, and personal growth, tailoring activities to the unique needs and strengths of every kid. But that’s not all! You’ll also get to be part of the vibrant community in Poznań, co-creating cultural and artistic events, collaborating with local artists and activists, and capturing these moments for social media. This is a great chance to develop your skills, gain valuable experience, and make a real impact—all while being part of a supportive and inspiring team! Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
We offer our volunteers allowance around 1300 PLN for pocket and food money, and reimbursement of travel expenses within ESC limits. Accommodation is provided in a student dormitory called Jurand in the central part of Poznań so all workplaces can be reached easily. You will stay in an individual room with wifi, fridges and bed-sheets. The dormitory includes a common kitchen and bathroom. In the close area there are shops, supermarkets, and a green zone. Our organisation will provide local transportation cards and public transport is well organised in Poznan.
Training during the activity
At the beginning of the volunteers' stay we will organise an orientation introduction to discover our organisation, its values, people that volunteers will work with, projects and work's methodology. Participation in on-arrival and mid term evaluation trainings will be organised by Polish National Agency for all the international volunteers coming to Poland. You will also have support from other young volunteers, work mentor, experienced organisation team and psychologist if needed.
Participant profile
Are you a motivated and enthusiastic young professional eager to gain hands-on experience in education? Whether you already have some experience or simply a strong passion for supporting kids in their exploration journey to knowledge, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for volunteers interested in non-formal education, organizing educational projects, or managing social media. Since English will be the main language of communication, it's important that you’re comfortable speaking and understanding it. Most importantly, we want someone who shares our values—believing in peace, inclusivity, diversity, and cross-cultural collaboration. If you’re open-minded, curious, and excited about working in an intercultural environment, this opportunity is for you!
