Description
The "Bäckerei" (german word for bakery) is an old former bakery, which had been abandoned for ten years, until 2010. A motivated bunch of people took over and breathed life into the buliding. It has now become a successful platform for cultural exchange and social innovation in Innsbruck which aims to enable people to share knowledge and know-how on cultural themes and topics of social interst. There is no specific target group of "Die Bäckerei - Kulturbackstube" - we have a wide range of activities suitable for a big spectrum of audience. Whether someone wants to host weekly Yoga classes, music workshops, regular startup meetings or organize a concert or any kind of artistic endeavour, we provide support to make it happen. Every year we organize, co-organize and host more than 300 cultural activities, we offer a very diversecultural programme! Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Equipped flat provided in the heart of Innsbruck, Tyrol. You will share a flat with other employees from the Bäckerei where you will have a private room. Your working place is 20 minutes away from your accommodation. A free bicycle will be applied. Furthermore you will be provided with a ticket for the public transport. Additionally you will receive sufficient monthly food money and 7 Euros daily (pocket money).
Training during the activity
You will work five days and around 35 hours a week. There will be a weekend, this means two consecutive days off every week. You have two days of holidays every month during your project time. Working shifts can be various (late afternoon, evening). You will be a part of the team of Bäckerei, where your proactive personality is welcome but where you will receive support too, at any time. Culture management, creating web content, maintenance of the venue and a personal project during your volunteering time, are parts of the daily working routine which you`ll get to know step by step
Participant profile
- between 18 and 30 years - personal interests in arts, culture, media, film, photography, communication, etc. - open minded and flexible personality who is interested in people, new learnings (media management) and development in general - culture management, creating new events formats and working with existing ones at Bäckerei should be part of your motivation - willing to find out about personal skills during the volunteering time at Bäckerei - the volunteering year is a full program which requires focus (so you cannot be registered as a student or in any other job during that time). - You can also send something creative to express your motivation additionally.
