The volunteer will support ASPEm in activities to support women and children, following a feminist, participatory and community-based approach, in collaboration with local partner Adelante Mujer. They will contribute to actions promoting women's autonomy and community engagement, supporting the strengthening of local women’s networks and the accompaniment - practical and emotional -of women starting personal, professional and housing autonomy processes, also through home visits and listening sessions. A key part of this support will be educational and recreational activities, including play and animation for children and adolescents, essential to enabling women to attend training and access work. The volunteer will help facilitate collective spaces as “Coffee Thursdays”, where women meet in cycles of exchange, care and learning, and will co-design and run training and workshops in areas such as social entrepreneurship, community tourism or arts. The role involves 30-40 hours per week.

Apgyvendinimas, maitinimas ir transportas

The house is in Cochabamba, where ASPEm’s local office is based, a city offering activities, courses, shopping centers and services. It is in a safe area, shared with other volunteers, each person having a private, lockable room. Utilities such as water, gas, electricity and internet are included. The house is in the northern area, close to shops, pharmacies and banks. It has good access to safe and affordable public transportation. Vegetarian/vegan options are limited, but there is more variety available in the city center.

Mokymas veiklos laikotarpiu

Through hands-on experience, the volunteer will strengthen key competencies in community-based support, feminist facilitation, educational and recreational methodologies and collaboration with local women’s networks. Online meetings with other volunteers involved in the project are planned, as opportunity for training and exchange of experiences, challenges and good practices. They will have access to platforms such as OLS, GOT and SALTO, and will strengthen transversal skills such as autonomy, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving. All will be certified through the Youthpass.

We are looking for a motivated and committed person, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, intercultural sensitivity, and a genuine interest in gender justice and social change. The ideal candidate is ready to support the proposed activities in line with the organization’s priorities and the needs of the community, actively contributing to the creation of pathways for women's autonomy and the wellbeing of children and adolescents. Empathy, active listening, flexibility, a spirit of service, proactivity, and a collaborative attitude are essential qualities, as well as a willingness to work in complex contexts, adapt to different educational and participatory methodologies, and respond openly to possible organizational or operational changes. A strong personal motivation is required, along with the ability to question oneself, shift perspectives, and engage with the local context with respect and curiosity. Previous experience in education, social animation, work with women’s groups, or in community-based contexts will be considered an asset. The ability to bring personal skills, passions, and knowledge - in artistic, expressive, technical, or manual fields - into the co-design and facilitation of training and recreational workshops for women will also be highly valued. For the design and facilitation of these courses and workshops, skills and knowledge in social entrepreneurship, community tourism or arts are preferred. The volunteer should be available to combine educational and relational support - with both women and children/adolescents - with active participation in community events, group activities, and workshops. Good organizational skills, including the ability to plan activities and manage materials and spaces in coordination with the local team, are also required. Eligibility: Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
