ENGIM in Guinea-Bissau focuses on vocational training, strengthening CIFAP school through teacher training and new courses for youth. It has also launched the country's first micro-enterprise incubator, supporting young entrepreneurs in early business development stages. The volunteer will support the local team in managing and coordinating incubator activities. Main Tasks: Help manage and organize the youth entrepreneurship incubator; Track the progress of micro-enterprise projects, including business selection, grant management, and monitoring funded businesses; Support mentors and help with their sessions with participants; Organize and take part in training sessions, workshops, networking events for startups, field visits; Keep project documents and prepare simple progress reports; Communicate with startups and give guidance when needed; Collect feedback and help improve the incubator activities; Help with logistics, budgeting, and creating communication material.
Cazare, hrană și transport
The volunteer will be accommodated in a shared apartment with basic services (electricity, cold water, gas for cooking). The apartment, located within the CIFAP premises, includes a shared kitchen and living room, while the bedroom with a private bathroom is for the exclusive use of the volunteer. A security guard is present for safety. Wi-Fi is available only during working hours. A monthly allowance of €800 will be provided, covering food and local transport. A laptop will be provided, and reimbursement for mobile phone expenses is included.
Formare pe durata activității
Pre-departure training on local context, ongoing programs, humanitarian principles and security. On-site and pre-departure training on administrative, accounting and management topics, intercultural approaches and communication in the non-profit sector. Learning in the workplace in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team. The volunteer will receive briefings/training with different departments related to the mission and the position.
Profilul participantului
Education & Training: Preferred (non-mandatory) degrees in International Cooperation, Political Science, Economy and Management, International Relations, Communication Sciences, Marketing, Social Media Management, or related fields. Skills & Competencies: Good communication and writing skills; Good organizational skills and attention to detail; Basic knowledge of document management; Ability to work in diverse and complex environments; Ability to work in a multicultural team; Organizational and problem-solving skills; Autonomy and ability to prioritize tasks; Ability to adapt to a humble environment and simple lifestyle, work collaboratively, and share living and working spaces with others. Language & Technical Skills: Proficiency in both Portuguese (B1) and Italian (B1) is preferred but not mandatory. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google suite, Wordpress. Eligibility: Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
