Description
Our goal is to raise awareness and educate children and their families about today’s social and environmental challenges. We focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially well-being and healthy living in an ecological and sustainable way. Volunteer missions include: • Designing activities for children around ecology and sustainability • Raising awareness about food consumption during school lunch • Organizing outdoor “green” activities • Supporting the “Vélobus” initiative by accompanying children • Promoting healthy, local snacks during after-school time • Developing short- and mid-term projects related to ecology • Creating activities for parents and the wider community • Collaborating with educators to align with the pedagogical project • Leading the “Prix littéraire” reading program with children Volunteers are expected to be proactive, creative, and motivated to work with children and contribute to a team
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteer will share the flat with another volunteer and she/he will have his own room. The flat is in Saint-Etienne. It is equipped with a fridge, a gas stove, a washing machine, a microwave. The volunteer will by himself. The money will be given at the beginning of each month for the purchase of food in addition of pocket money. And he will have an unlimited transit pass to move in Saint-Etienne. The activity is bases in a village nearby.
Training during the activity
During the first months, the volunteer will have French class. The volunteer will participate to the on-arrival and midterm training organized by National Agency. All project long, the volunteer will participate to different trainings, as SDG's training, as Education for Citizenship and International Solidarity's training.
Participant profile
We are looking for a motivated volunteer between 18 and 30 years old who is passionate about working with children. The volunteer will help organize recreational and educational activities for children aged 3 to 14. They will be part of a collaborative team of 5 to 12 educators who value creativity, open communication, and teamwork. Together, they aim to create a supportive environment where children can learn, play, and grow. We are particularly seeking someone with a strong interest in ecology and sustainable development—someone eager to promote and develop the knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed for a sustainable lifestyle. The ideal candidate is curious about alternative methods of consumption and production and wants to actively contribute to one of today’s most pressing challenges: educating people of all ages about sustainable living.
