Learning to cocreate a Europe of solidarity

In this CES volunteering project, participants will have the chance to work with children, young people and schools in order to implement activities, workshops, debates... focusing on European Union values and human rights, at the same time as they develop their understanding of European diversity and help children and youngsters to understand that it is something positive and enriching. To do so, they will have the support of the host organisation team, that manages a Europe Direct information centre, and also of the schools staff and youth formal or informal groups they will work with. The area is a rural area in the South of Spain, placed between Córdoba (1h), Granada (1,15h) and Málaga (1,5h) well connected by public transport with these Andalusian cities.
Apgyvendinimas, maitinimas ir transportas
The volunteers will share an apartment in which they will all have individual bedrooms, they will receive a monthly allowance for food apart form their stipulated pocket money. Regarding local transport, the town of Baena where they will reside and collaborate as volunteers is small and all the places are at an easy walking distance (max 15 minutes). When we run activities in another town, they will travel with the host organisation team who will be in charge.
Mokymas veiklos laikotarpiu
The volunteers will spend the first month learning about the project, the resources they will use in their activities, the topics... with the coordinator of this CES project. After that, they will have weekly training and support sessions. Besides, the National Agency organises in Spain on arrival trainings for new volunteers
Dalyvio profilis
Volunteers should be interested in working with children and young people and be interested in the European Union values and diversity. Solidarity is at the very heart of a volunteering project and in this case the understanding of how it unites Europe and society based on shared values. European citizenship, education and creativity are the European Solidarity Corps topic linked to this project. Volunteers will find it easier to adapt to their new environment if they have some knowledge of Spanish. although language support will of course be provided.
