Description

Through our project we aim to foster social cohesion by promoting a sense of belonging within the local community and European space, advocating for equality among community members, and encouraging active participation for a green environment. Volunteers will support community environmental actions like greening activities, and the physical development of facilities of the future youth space “Horizons.” Their primary tasks will involve engaging in physical development and arrangement of the space, which includes assembling, organizing, and maintaining facilities, arranging spaces. Also, volunteers will participate in educational activities, preparation of materials for thematic activities supporting facilitators who coordinate the youth activities.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteers will be accommodated in Târgoviște, in shared rooms with 3–4 volunteers per room (non-smoking). A common kitchen will be available for use, equipped with a fridge, microwave, and stove. Volunteers will receive a daily allowance of €5 for food and basic necessities, along with €4 per day as pocket money. Travel expenses to and from Romania will be reimbursed in accordance with the travel documents provided and the program’s official guidelines.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will attend a pre-departure training before leaving and will be instructed for the activities during the project. Under the guidance of the volunteer coordinator, the volunteers will set learning goals and will learn how to deal with tasks related to the development of activity.

Participant profile

Volunteers should be aged between 18-29. A primary focus is given to participants with fewer opportunities, who will benefit from additional support according to the ESC programme. Requirements: interest in non-formal education, community events, motivation to develop organizational skills and soft skills. Volunteers should have good communication skills, minimum B2 English level and team work skills.
