Description

The project aims to identify and prioritise communities in Guatemala where TECHO can intervene during the period 2026-2030, using information from sources such as ENCOVI, IPM and other public and municipal entities. The project includes strategic data analysis, review of criteria for opening communities, proposal of new areas of coverage and identification of the optimal location for a new headquarters. The results will be consolidated in a public technical report and an internal document with specific recommendations for each headquarters, including practical tools for regional coordination. Some tasks are: -Receive induction on TECHO's working model, criteria for opening communities, and previous experience in headquarters. -Contact relevant municipalities and organisations virtually to obtain additional information. -Generate initial suggestions for opening new communities and possible areas for new headquarters. - Final draft of the technical report identifying communities.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Working conditions: Hybrid work (3 days in office - 2 days teleworking) / Flexible working hours / Regular visits to the communities / Institutional mail tool and library drive. Living conditions: The volunteer will receive a monthly per diem of 791€ to cover their food and other expenses. The accommodation, visa fees, return flights, vaccination costs, the health insurance, basic equipment (laptop and mobile phone) and the expenses related to transportation will be covered by the programme; -2 days of leave per month.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will improve their professional knowledge through training in humanitarian action, and specific issues on security and will be provided with training resources to continue their trainings. ● Be part of a multidisciplinary team where you can learn about other professions and the national context. ● Learn about the characteristics of poverty and inequality from a human rights perspective. ● Manage and evaluate projects with a focus on corporate social responsibility and sustainability. ● Develop your leadership and teamwork skills. ● Strengthen your network of contacts.

Participant profile

● Professional, graduate or student in Sociology, Anthropology, Social Psychology, Social Work, or related fields. ● Knowledge of Social Research, Data Analysis, or Project Development, especially in community or social development projects. ● Experience or knowledge in project planning, execution, and monitoring; creation of guides and manuals. ● Spanish as a mother tongue or advanced level. ● Ability to adapt to change and work flexibly. ● Effective social skills, facilitating positive and effective collaboration in teamwork. ● Availability to travel occasionally within Guatemala for data collection and presentation of results. Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
