Hyphen for Inclusion - Marche en Famenne

ASSOCIATION DES COMPAGNONS BATISSEURS

MARCHE-EN-FAMENNE, Belgium

Description

The “Association des Compagnons Bâtisseurs” (CBB) is a non-profit Youth Organisation. CBB proposes different kinds of activities, mainly based on volunteering and non-formal education: local and international workcamps, youth exchanges, mid/long term volunteering, inclusive projects with people with disabilities, activities in CBB community garden, intercultural activities. Our ESC volunteer will be actively involved in our activities, from the prep to the evaluation, and their role will mainly be to facilitate, together with CBB leaders and other CBB volunteers, the participation of diverse audiences. Together with the team, the volunteer will also have the opportunity to participate in residential activities all around Belgium and organize weekly collective activities in Marche-en-Famenne. They will get to meet many new people while contributing to break down stereotypes and encouraging active citizenship and participation among the youth.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteers will have a private room in a fully-equipped shared house in the city of Marche-en-Famenne, with other ESC volunteers. The house is located in the city centre (on a short foot-distance from the workplace) and has all the modern facilities. Food: the volunteer will receive a monthly allowance and will take care of the meals by themselves. Participation in the European Solidarity Corps is free of charge for the participant, except for exceptional contribution to travel costs. Freeboard and lodging + pocket money.

Training during the activity

With the French-speaking National Agency of Belgium: on-arrival and mid-term seminars. With the support organization in Belgium (Association des Compagnons Bâtisseurs asbl, "CBB"): residential weekends and networking activities with other ESC volunteers on other projects supported by CBB in the French-speaking part of Belgium. The volunteers should be ready to take an active part in the collective networking activities and can count on many local resources to create personal projects.

Participant profile

Open-minded, curious, enthusiastic, empathetic; motivated to work with a diverse audience of young people on a regular basis; interest for COLLECTIVE activities; create a good group dynamic and ready to take on interesting challenges. The main activities will be organized in FRENCH, therefore, the volunteer should be highly motivated to communicate in this language.
