Description

You will support the implementation of Gender Policies in the Mission, participating in the workplan design and format of the interventions. You will provide technical assistance to the formulation and execution of surveillance and incidence plans related to addressing gender-based violence, and advice on appropriate gender-sensitive indicators. You will represent the mission in international AAH working groups and networking spaces related to women's empowerment and gender violence and prepare reports and other documents, and help in the development of inclusive and non-sexist communication materials, in collaboration with the communications manager. You will help with the production and implementation of a comprehensive safeguarding work plan, building up a solid safeguarding structure a SEA-free environment, strengthening reporting mechanisms and a survivor-centered approach and promoting the PSEA within the Mission.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation, travel costs, visa, pre-deployment medical check + vaccinations (if mandatory for the country), allowance will be covered. In case of need, Fewer Opportunities measures will also be provided. A monthly Subsistence Lump Sum will be provided to cover basic needs such as food and personal hygiene items.

Training during the activity

The Volunteer will attend online before and on-site induction at the arrival to her/his deployment Mission. Training during deployment will also be offered to improve the volunteer’s skills and competences.

Participant profile

You have studied social sciences, with possibly a master’s degree in a field related to gender studies or similar, have knowledge of methodologies for the incorporation of the gender approach and specialization in community development issues in social needs, humanitarian action (desirable). You have experience and / or personal commitment to promoting gender equality in humanitarian and / or development work. You are fluent in Spanish (C1-C2). and Upper-intermediate (B2) in written and spoken English. You have excellent writing and communication skills, motivation, ability to plan, organize and analyze methodologies for mainstreaming the gender, diversity, intercultural approach in planning, implementation, monitoring, or evaluation of projects / development / humanitarian programs. You also are proactive, highly empathetic and are adaptable with no intercultural issues, gender, religion, race, nationality, and age prejudices. Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), and have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training. Candidates can sum up two or more ESC volunteering to a maximum of 12 months overall.
