Description
Proyecto Kieu is an association based in Numancia de la Sagra with 20 years of experience working with young people to create opportunities for personal growth. One of our fields of work is related to the Environmental education. We actively implement actions that aim to raise the environmental awareness of the locals, especially of local young people. The selected volunteer will support the environmental actions of Proyecto Kieu by organizing informational sessions and workshops, working in the development of a local garden, creating visual materials related to the topic, etc. What’s in it for you? 🌍 Make a meaningful contribution to environmental work and youth engagement. 🤝 Collaborate with people from different cultures and learn in an international environment. 📚 Develop skills in environmental education, youth leadership, activity facilitation, and community work. 🌞 Enjoy a unique cultural experience in Spain, with the opportunity to discover La Sagra and its community.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The accommodation is in a big house in two- or three-person bedrooms shared with other volunteers of the EU Solidarity Corps program. The total capacity of the house is 8 long-term volunteers living together. To travel to and from their hometown, each volunteer will have a budget depending on where they travel, according to the Erasmus + distance calculator. Training during the activity
Volunteers receive an on-arrival training organized by our entity that aims to prepare them for the work with young people, give them practical information about life in our area and teach conflict management and cultural shocks. They also participate together in monthly trainings focused on the Youthpass skills and their own learning, their personal development and on the achievement of their learning objectives. Also, we count with local volunteers who support our volunteers with learning Spanish communication.
Participant profile
What we’re looking for: ✔️ Motivated individuals who are passionate about sustainability and environmental education. ✔️ Open-minded people eager to learn and share knowledge. ✔️ Socially skilled volunteers comfortable working with young people and diverse groups. ✔️ A strong sense of initiative and leadership. It is not obligatory to speak Spanish when you join us, but you should be open and be motivated to learn along the course of the project. The bigger part of the population here doesn't speak English, so communication would be very difficult if you don't put an effort to learn. For this project we will only be considering candidates who apply through the European Solidarity Corps portal. Any CVs and motivational statements received on email will be directly deleted.
