Description
This Humaniarian Aid volunteer service offers to make a chance to make a difference while immersing yourself in diverse cultures and learning invaluable skills. As a volunteer, you'll engage in a variety of tasks designed to aid communities and promote sustainability. Collaborating with the local partner Centre for Sustainable Development Studies (CSDS) in Hanoi, you'll facilitate educational activities to raise environmental awareness and combat climate change. These activities include teaching languages, hosting interactive discussions, and implementing green practices. Working alongside local staff and volunteers, you'll engage in and lead diverse activities such as social animation, educational workshops, and organizing seminars on crucial topics like nutrition, environmental management, and active citizenship for local youth. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteers will live in twin rooms with aircon in summertime, hot water for winter shower and Wi-Fi, fan, etc. They will enjoy a shared kitchen, common space and shared bathroom with others. Accommodation is located in a quieter and no tourist area in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. Here, volunteers can immerse themselves in the local culture and community, away from the hustle and bustle of tourist areas. As part of the package, volunteers will receive three nutritious meals per day for six days a week. Additionally, they will be provided with a complimentary monthly bus pass.
Training during the activity
Volunteers will receive pre-departure training online and on-arrival training in the host country. A knowledgeable mentor will support them daily, ensuring smooth integration into community activities. Mid-term evaluation training will occur after 3 months, followed by a final evaluation before departure. A follow-up meeting will take place 1-2 months after returning home.
Participant profile
You are welcome to apply if you are between 18 and 35 years old, live in an EU Member State or an associated non-EU country, and are available for the full six-month period. It is mandatory to have completed the face-to-face training before starting the voluntary service. You should be interested in engaging internationally and gaining insight into humanitarian work, want to experience intercultural exchange and create meaningful, lasting experiences while contributing to our local project in Vietnam. We're seeking volunteers who embody friendliness, positivity, empathy, and open mindedness. Flexibility and creativity are essential, as well as strong training and facilitation abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must, and proficiency in videomaking and photography is highly valued. Experience working with vulnerable populations is desirable, and candidates with leadership qualities and effective organizational skills are strongly encouraged to apply.
