Description
KreaMont is a private school for children aged between 6 to 14. We use non-traditional pedagogical methods such as Maria Montessori pedagogy among the others. Our teaching approach is based on independent work as well as learning in groups. This gives children freedom to explore and develop to their fullest potential, while working with didactic materials within a prepared environment. You'll be... *supporting the pedagogical staff in their work: helping with preparation of presentations, giving presentations, taking part in project work, *supporting children in their independent work, attending exhibitions and other events, playing games, taking part in a theater group, etc. *sharing the customs, traditions and life style of the volunteer’s home countries with the children, parents and teachers *available for the children’s questions and concerns and supporting them *enriching the school daily work with your inputs and own ideas
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
You will be accommodated either in a private room with a guest family or in a single room with shared bathroom in a students' dormitory in Vienna. You will receive a monthly food allowance (300 EUR / month) and pocket money (180 EUR / month) as well as a flat rate for public transport.
Training during the activity
You will have the opportunity to participate in a German language course, On-Arrival and Mid-Term Training. Participant profile
*You are willing to volunteer for the entire school year. *You have some experience in working with children. *You speak fluent English (basic knowledge of German is of an advantage). *You are interested in non-traditional pedagogical methods, e.g. Montessori pedagogy, game-based learning, etc. *You have good communication skills. *You are highly self motivated, open minded, creative and team-oriented.
