Veiklos aprašymas

”Seeds of Action” is an ESC 7-month volunteering project which aims to improve the well-being and quality of life of the elderly from the Care Home "O Noua Sansa" Marasesti. The project involves 8 volunteers who are going to engage with community members in promoting a healthy lifestyle such as building a healthy vegetable garden with the seniors, preparing canned vegetables in a traditional way and spending quality free time with the elderly performing occupational therapy activities, ludo therapy, ergotherapy. The volunteers will carry out the activities in 2 teams of 4, and weekly by rotation, a team will participate in eco-gardening activities and another team in occupational therapy activities with the seniors. Within the host families, the volunteers will participate in gardening activities, from growing seedlings, grooming, harvesting and processing to obtain organic products, as well as processing vegetables to obtain tomato juice, zacusca, pickles, stew vegetables.

Apgyvendinimas, maitinimas ir transportas

Volunteers will live in 2 flats in Marasesti, in shared bedrooms, individual beds, with common area, shared cooking, washing, laundry and social facilities, free wi-fi included. Food: Volunteers will receive a monthly food allowance of 150 Euro to buy food products and cook for themselves and a monthly allowance of 90 Euro in form of “pocket money”. Transport: Volunteers are responsible for arranging their travel. The travel costs will be reimbursed at the end of the project according to the distance band limits imposed by the European Commission.

Mokymas veiklos laikotarpiu

The volunteers will be accompanied and supported at all times during the activities by teachers from classes and they will receive training at the beginning of their stage in order to become familiar with the way the activities will be implemented. They will receive ongoing support from activity coordinators, teachers and staff of our organization. The volunteers will attend the On-Arrival Training and Mid-Term Evaluation, organized by the Romanian National Agency. The volunteers will also receive Romanian language training during the first 3 months.

Dalyvio profilis

We are looking for volunteers who are creative, empathetic, willing to spend time with elder people, patient, interested in nature, eco-gardening activities, and eco friendly living, eager to learn new things; willing to learn Romanian, able to work in a team; responsible, flexible; motivated by this project and able to attend the full duration of the project. In this project we will also include 4 volunteers with fewer opportunities, facing one of the following obstacles: Social Difficulties, Cultural Differences, Economic Difficulties, Disability, Health Problems, Geographical obstacles.
