Volunteering in a High school at Mauléon - SW France

Hankkeen kuvaus

The Lycée Agricole, located in Mauléon, SW France, hosts 2 volunteers who have the opportunity to work along with the students, the teachers and the employees of the school, in order to create an intercultural environment (by organizing projects, extracurricular activities, participation to languages classes...). The Lycée Agricole of Mauléon has participated in European projects since 2004 including training periods abroad in Spain, Ireland and Great Britain. The volunteers are involved in the preparation of the students who participate in trainings abroad and assist to the school's documentation center to furnish documentary data about Europe. They will also set up leisure time and sports activities with the students attending the boarding school (270 of 330 students) and participate in educational projects about health, environment and sustainable development.

Majoitus, ateriat ja kuljetukset

The volunteers share an independent apartment at the site. They have the possibility to take their meals at the boarding school and also receive a monthly food budget. A car will be at their disposal on evenings and weekends. Thus, the driving license will be necessary.

Koulutus hankkeen aikana

French language support will be provided by OLS and a local association. The volunteers will participate in an on-arrival and a midterm training. The costs are covered.

Osallistujan profiili

The volunteer should be open minded and have good relationship-building skills, interest in social and cultural activities and sports. We are looking for a volunteer from Spain after a last minute cancellation. Basic skills in French will be a plus.
