Sansusī Summer '23

Descrierea activității

Sansusī Summer '23 as a volunteering teams activity aims to promote solidarity among the Sansusī community and communities it is connected with through volunteering, artistic and cultural activities. Activity is for 12 young people from EU and Ukraine. Idea is to create, develop, grow as human beings and also imrpove inner artistic side of each volunteer. Everyone will stay in a rural area of Latvia - Susēja Artist Residence Centre - around 150 km from Rīga in Aknīste municipality. Residence centre also hosts a contemporary academic music and arts festival Sansusī on August 11-13. Cazare, hrană și transport

The Center is a former guest house, so it is equipped with all the infrastructure needed. The Center has rooms with beds and bathrooms, a kitchen, a conference hall, and a room for leisure activities. The volunteer house has two dorm type rooms. Area has three performing sites with stages - including dome stage for circus and similar arts. Food - cook by self as community, big kitchen available. Transport - walking, bikes, maybe a car available (depends on situation), public transport and hitchhiking. Green travel recommended.

Formare pe durata activității

Learning by doing is main approach. Two activity managers available at all times during volunteering time. Extra mentors from experienced team in various areas available. When needed practical life workshops organised (such as bike fixing, cooking etc). Masterclasses in culture and arts sector especially to support cooperation between volunteers will be organised. Language learning workshops or lessons created if and when needed.

Profilul participantului

The project will be hosting volunteers from EU countries and Ukraine in the age from 18 to 30 years. The general profile: + motivation to learn, initiate, and get involved in the activities of Sansusi; + education, experience or high level interest in the field of arts and culture (because we are arts and cultural organisation so main topics involve this theme) + optional local volunteering experience in other organisations; + various background of life, interests, income level + interest in working with local communities of rural area in Latvia; + interest in social inclusion
