The Administration for Allocation of Social Welfare is a part of the municipality City of Gothenburg. The Administration for Allocation of Social Welfare offers the people of Gothenburg a wide and varied range of social services. We work with substance abuse, homelessness, vulnerable children and families, young people at risk, people with functional impairments, newly arrived refugees, social development and a great deal besides… We have five operating areas: Housing, Integration and Functional Support; Support for Families and Individuals; Social Development and S2020 – Socially Sustainable Development 2020. Support for Families and Individual´s unit Iter work mainly with youth with fewer opportunities (NEET). We have developed a method including international mobility/ EVS European Voluntary Service to support the target group and make them more employable or ready to go back to school and get on with their life and feel more included in society. The method includes a lot of support before, during and after the mobility and it also includes a large network with local social welfare, labour market, education sector, family for example. The target group involves wide spectra of participants with different backgrounds; it can be early school leavers, youngsters with a history of drug abuse, criminal activities, homelessness etc. We have had a really good outcome, with a difficult and complex target group.
