Descrierea organizației

The leisure youth centre Rabet (OFT Rabet) is an institution which belongs to the youth welfare office of Leipzig, therefore it pays its highest attention to children and youth. More over, it holds a key position in helping youth and immigrants in the eastern part of Leipzig, especially in all the diverse projects of “Soziale Stadt” (“social city”).
The OFT puts its focus on two main target groups:
1. Children and young families
Children between the age of 6 -12 years have a separated location in the club, where they can play, do arts and crafts, read... They can do all this under guidance of an experienced pedagogue. Children under the age of 6 years are also allowed to use our leisure amenities of the “kidsroom” but their parents have to guide them.
2. Youth and adolescent
Our youth club is equipped with billiards, dart, table football and playstation. Teenagers have the opportunity to use different leisure amenities in the youth club. They have lots of room for their own leisure-time activities. They can either do this alone, or get guidance from a social worker/ social pedagogue. It is a specific feature that many of the users of the OFT come from immigrant families. There are often young people from over 20 nations in the club. Textually, we concentrate on integrative working methods that take this specific feature in consideration.
The OFT also serves as a platform for many events. Different discussions groups, dance and entertainment are therefore a part of what the OFT offers.
