Our organization manages a Residence Housing for Young workers called Foyer des Jeunes Travailleurs (FJT) articulated around 100 rooms, a social restaurant and a service animation. The residence is also approved Youth hostel.
- its objectives
The FJT, by a flexible formula which allows to support the mobility of the young people, contributes to their social and professional integration. Beyond the access to an accommodation, the ATRIUM FJT association wants to support the potentialities of the young people and to help them to begin and to build the society of tomorrow.
The main objectives are:
Facilitate the mobility of the young people by allowing them to find accommodation in good conditions, adapted to their needs
Fight against the social and professional exclusion

- its target groups
The FJT of Tarbes is a place of host for the young people from 16 to 30 years old needing to move to exercise their activity: hard-working, school, trainees of the vocational training, apprentices, … The FJT gives young people a range of 100 housing (simple room, T1, T1 apartments).
The young people who live in the FJT (approximately 400 / year with stays varying of a few days in several months) are directed to us by families, companies, training centers, and social workers and partneers .
Due to its activity of social restaurant, the structure also welcomes daily workers, employees, business managers as well as groups from association which rents meeting rooms in the building

-its regular activities
The FJT offers to the residents:
- Collective services (restaurant open to all the members, communal kitchen, self-service laundry, watched parking , television room, multimedia room)
- A social action: reception, information orientation, help in the administrative steps (APL, Loca Pass), advice and diverse support …
- Cultural, social and sports activities: workshops cooking, meal with theme, room body-building, sports initiations, going out theater, concerts …
The project of the structure associates the young people with the authorities of decision, they are strength of proposal both at the level of the activities and of the functioning. The young people get involved in the life of the association in the fault:
- Of the Council of house with residents elected by the young people of the FJT. It is about a space of dialogue and about dialogue with the direction and the organizers (empowerment of the young people).
- Of residents' Association and former residents who organizes cultural, sports activities and demonstrations to maintain links of friendship and solidarity.
The activities are proposed according to the skills, the desires and the expectations of the young people, we lean on the exchange of knowledges, between young people but also with the professionals who always stay in their listening.
To set up these activities and reach its goals, the association counts 33 employees among whom 20 affected in the hosting part which concerns the reception of EVS (5 for the reception day and night, 4 animators, 5 to the Restaurant service, 6 administrative people and techniques, cleaning, maintenance, secretarial department and direction.
The team of animation, responsible for the European Voluntary Service (hosting, sending and coordination) since 2004, forms regularly. So an animator participated in April, 2013 in a seminar in Poland " SOHO European Training Course " and is helped by experimented tutors of Midi-Pyrénées to answer the various interrogations and ask. She will pursue her training in the coming years.


- other relevant aspects
The double activity FJT / Youth Hostel leans on a mutualization of human means and building. The structure is opening all year long, the activity of the Youth Hostel develops especially the summer during the slack period of the FJT, her allows to develop the intercultural dimension of the structure.
The Youth hostel has for mission to welcome French or foreign young people, individually or in a group, to develop the exchanges and the meetings between the young people, and to lead any action regarding social tourism.
The Youth hostel is a place of mix of populations. It constitutes besides an additional asset in the policy of welcome of the FJT, allowing the young people to meet without social, political, religious, ethnic or other exclusion. To frequent the Youth hostel or the FJT, to participate in the activities, it is to open to other cultures, other customs.
The association also develops an activity for the job-seekers thanks to its service Employment / training with departmental brilliance. This activity brings to the structure a good knowledge of the socioeconomic ground. The public benefiting from these services is directed by the partners (employment agency, Local Mission, Regional council), the beneficiaries are not residents of the FJT.
