Amt für Jugendarbeit is an office of the local administration in Bolzano in South Tyrol. Our role is to support and encourage youth workers, youth institutions and organizations with financial grants and proper consultation.
We also plan, develop and coordinate initatives beyound South Tyrol, organize educational events, youth cultural events and youth exchanges, publish a magazine with relevant topics for youth-workers, we work in a multicultural comunity, encourage intercultural activities an are Eurodesk InfoPoint.
Amt für Jugendarbeit is accredited as "sending organization" for european voluntary since 2000 and is still the only one in the province of Bolzano.
We consider the opportunity to live abroad for a longer period as a great chance for young people. For this reason we organize events in formal educational institutions like schools and in non-formal educational organizations for young people (like youth centres) to give them the necessary informations about the opportunities of mobility abroad. We want to develop a culture of solidarity and participation and give young people after the school, with doubts about the next steps in their life, young people with minority possibilities and NEETS the chance to do an exceperience abroad for finding new motivation, new perspectives and developing new personal competences for their future.
Our region is pretty particular; especially being aware of the specific local geographic (70-80% are mountains) and cultural situation is an important encouragement for young people to move for a longer period and face other cultures and new living situations.
Therefore we want to continue to offer and spread the opportunity of a voluntary experience with the programme of European solidarity corps in our province.
