Beskrivning av organisationen

Euromed Carrefour Sicilia is a not for profit organisation accredited as part of the Europe Direct, Network, whose main goal is to provide information and teach the population of the Sicilian region about the EU policies and programmes, serving as a tool to create and consolidate the european citizenship in Sicily. We act to spread knowledge about the activities and the opportunites of the EU. We offer information and organize events and activities to raise the citizens' awareness and promote debate and EU policies, programmes and fundings. Our Europe Direct Information Center include a European Documentation Center, which collects and disseminates publications of the European Union.
GOALS
• Spread information about EU, EU priorities and Europe 2020 Strategy;
• Foster active citizenship at local and regional level supporting debate about EU - organization of meetings, events seminars;
• Raise awareness by means of the Europe Direct Information Center activities, as well as by media and social media;
• Communication about priorities and main relevant themes through cooperation with other Europe Direct Centers;
• Promote best practises to encourage local development.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
• Spread information about EU and EU policies and priorities through website, social media;
• Organization of events, seminars meetings about EU policies and main European themes in cooperation with european, national, regional and/or local institutions and other public/private organizations;
• Management of a European Documentation Center to disseminate publications of the European Union;
• Information campaigns about health, lifestyles and sport;
• Educational activities in schools;
• Project management and support to project management.
