a szervezet leírása

UILDM (Unione Italiana Lotta alla Distrofia Muscolare) is present in Italy with 66 branches, coordinated by the main office in Padua. It is a non-profit organization whose objectives are to promote the social inclusion of people with disabilities and to foster research, prevention and assistance in the field of neuromuscular diseases.
UILDM Lazio Onlus was established in Rome in 1967. It is the section with the largest number of members of the national network, which provides support services and home care to over a thousand users suffering from neuromuscular diseases in Lazio. A part of the organization's staff is made up of people with disabilities.
The organization has always been active in providing social support services to people with neuromuscular diseases, developing specific assistance provided free of charge to people with disabilities, and promoting a cultural change aimed at taking into account the needs of people with disabilities. UILDM Lazio is committed to raising public awareness of the culture of disability, improving the quality of life, and promoting equal opportunities.
The organization includes a Social Inclusion Area (ASIS) with a department promoting international mobility of people with disabilities (MIDA), as well as Communication Department.
Social Inclusion Area (ASIS) is the field of UILDM that offers support services, guidance and advice to support Independent Living. The philosophy of our work is to help our users become protagonists of their own lives by encouraging autonomy and independence. In our services we pay particular attention to users aged between 15 and 30 years as this age group goes through the process of self-development towards autonomy and social integration.
MIDA (International Mobility for People with Disabilities) is an ASIS department that promotes activities and experiences through international volunteer projects, individual or group, for young people with and without disabilities. The objective is active participation and "learning by doing", i. e. learning through non-formal and informal paths. The department offers a tutoring service to provide guidance, training, and personalized support to young people aged between 18 and 30 years who want to experience intercultural exchanges, work or volunteer opportunities through the European Solidarity Corps Programme and training courses.
Communication Department is responsible for communicating and promoting the activities of UILDM Lazio Onlus inside and outside the Association and is represented by the press office and the project FinestrAperta. The latter includes a magazine, webzine, and web radio. The project exists thanks to the involvement of volunteers with and without disabilities.
