Burgos City Council was created in 1833 and the Department of Youth born in December 1995 and started its activity with the creation of the Youth Information Centre, and then continue with the implementation of other services. Currently integrated in the Management of Social Services.
Following the approval of Law 11/2002 Youth Castilla y León skills on youth for local governments of over 20,000 inhabitants are increasing. Among these powers is where the falls Municipal Youth Plan I and II of Burgos, developing a set of programs that are embodied in the following activities and services of the Department of Youth council of Burgos:
-Search, processing and dissemination of all information related to youth.
Staff, telephone and telematics on the various programs, information, scholarships, awards, activities, courses, jobs ... offered by different public authorities or private bodies.
Information & advice relating to the programs and initiatives of the European Union in terms of training, education, employment, mobility and youth.

-Advise, support and motivate youth in projects that develop.
- Search for partners and projects at European level.
- Advice for Youth Self-Employment
- Annual Convocation three types of subsidies: for Self Employment, Youth and Partnership for Youth Groups and Musical Groups.
-Organisation of job fairs for young people.
- Conducting Courses Course Monographs and Leisure Monitor.
- Implementation of IT entangled
- Creation of a Short Film and Video Contest.
- National Contest of miniatures.
- Urban Youth Arts Program (Graffiti)
- Organization of major festivals and concerts (Electrosonic Festival and BurgosalSon)
