Anadolu University is a global university which adopted Life-Long Learning as a principle. Office for International Affairs –hereinafter referred to as the Office- plays an active and important role in implementing internationalization strategies of our university. Therefore, the Office implements various international and national exchange programmes and again, organizes international events with broad participation to make youth to acquire European and Global citizenship visions. The Office, founded in 2004, has also a crucial role on academic and administrative staff’s taking part in mobility, just like the students’ mobility. Every year, the Office sends 400+ Erasmus students for studies, 100+ Erasmus students for Placement and 150+ academic and administrative staff for training and teaching. Selection of beneficiaries, beneficiaries’ preparation for the exchange process, necessary announcements, reporting and financing process are realized by the Office. Besides being highly active at Erasmus Programme, in 2006, Anadolu University became the first Turkish university using ECTS credit system as its own accumulation system with the intensive contributions of the Office. Additionally, by these intensive contributions of the Office, the University is awarded with the ECTS and DS labels by EUC. On the other hand, while conducting these mobility activities, the office organizes an international day, an international photography contest on yearly basis and represents the University at international platforms. Besides having more than 400 inter-institutional agreements with EU Universities on behalf of the University, the Office is also proceeding to raise the numbers of dual degree programmes and EU and non-EU protocols. The Office aims to open the gateway to a new world of opportunities by EVS programme to Anadolu University’s more than 1.500.000 distance education students and about 30.000 resident students and it also aims to include the young people with fewer opportunities within the University.
