Beskrivning av organisationen

Youth organization “Raibais kaķis” work with youngsters from Balvi district. The municipality area is 1045,26 km2 and the population of Balvi is approximately 16 000, half of them live in the center of the municipality –Balvi. Distance from Balvi to Riga (the capital of Latvia) is 220km.
We are working with youngsters who have fewer opportunities – geographical, educational, economic and social obstacles. Aim of our organization: promote non-formal education for young people. 2022 we organize two non-formal education training about digitalization and environmental education. We corporate with youth organizations from the nearest municipalities, youth centers, other Latvian non-profit organizations, municipalities and also with organizations form the EU.
Our main activities:
1) Organize local seminars using non-formal education methods – forum theatre about different actual youth topics, creative writing workshops, living library, personal development,
2) Organise entrepreneurship education at local high schools,
3) Informing young people about different possibilities – education, employability, youth events, Erasmus +: Youth in action projects and also sending them to ERASMUS+ training courses, youth exchanges,
Activities regarding tolerance especially through ERASMUS+: Youth in action projects tolerance to another culture, growing up our youth – intercultural competence.
