Created in 1963, the Ligue HMC is a private association which’s main objective is the social and professional integration of people with mental disabilities. Today the Ligue HMC includes:
- more than 300 mentally disabled people (adults) who claim different services: hosting, training, work and and therapeutical activities
- more than 100 professionals of different fields (social handicrafts, health, administration) in charge of the mentally disabled people
- Volunteers supporting the association as a member of a board or a regional division or ad hoc participation in various activities organized by the Ligue HMC
- Six Residences for disabled people
- Care Center for daily activities
- more than twenty Sheltered Workplaces
- Propaedeutic Training Center
- Jobcoaching and Social Support Services
- Leisure Activity Center
The collectif DADOFONIC is a sheltered workshop for mentally disabled adult people who work as professional artists. It is part of the Ligue HMC, the collectif is one of 26 sheltered workshops there. The collectif DADOFONIC is composed of 12 artists with mental disabilities who are doing performing arts. They do rehearsals, acting exercises and training. Creative arts are part of their work (stage design, costume, drawings, preparing photography).
They perform in the street, on stage-shows and are holding workshops for other groups.
