The Nouveaux Disparus is a travelling theatre company, constituted as a non-profit association, whose main mission is to defend and implement projects in favour of cultural democracy. Its action is at the crossroads of these two concerns: the fight against exclusion and the exercise of cultural rights. The objectives pursued have their origins in the heart of the disadvantaged neighbourhoods of Brussels. At the outset, the team noted the almost total absence of a targeted cultural offer, adapted and accessible to a public in a precarious situation, and particularly to people of immigrant origin. The culture for all, a concept perceived as a lever for integration and equality, is translated into concrete actions.The Company created its own shows that combined societal and diversity themes and travelled around the cities with tent, primarily in social housing neighbourhoods. Secondly, it has been organising large-scale cultural events in the public space for many years, including the Festival Théâtres Nomades. The Company also sets up theatre workshops for young people from neighbourhood centres and youth organisations. For three months, the different groups of young people work on a common theme and the result of these creations is presented during a weekend at the Mimouna Festival. Beyond that, it develops a large number of other projects, particularly international ones, depending on the requests or opportunities. We're also head of belgian network of Anna Lindh Foundation
