Syncro-Synergy Croatia is an organisation active in the field of education, personal development, skill training and youth support. Syncro-Synergy Croatia was founded in 2010 with the aim of supporting the enhancement of quality of life and the development of human potential through powerful educational and personal development experiences, the intention of which is to develop communities locally, nationally and internationally. Being a part of International Synergy Group, we are joined in the common vision of a world that works for everyone.
Our mission is to encourage young people to reach their potential so that they can better contribute to and enrichen their communities. We do this by creating a learning space through which personal development takes place. Learning takes place through training, educational support, and involvement of young people (especially those with fewer opportunities). This is to provide opportunities for cooperation in the youth field, as well as for expression of creativity and an all-inclusive quality of life.
Activities of Syncro-Synergy Croatia are focused on building communities through youth support, education and personal development. We work with communities on three different levels, firstly on the local level here in the neighbourhood of our office. Our strategy is to implement programs in the coming years that will bring young international volunteers here to share and develop their skills with the local community. Our definition of local community does not exclude any age group, which is why our international volunteers will be working closely with people of all ages, including children, young people and pensioners. Further to this, our work with the local community expands into the city of Zagreb as a whole through our youth club events. These events offer volunteers the chance to organise and lead workshops where they can share their skills with others. These events are free and attract not only local young people from throughout the city but also international young people who are living in Zagreb such as exchange students and volunteers on EVS, Erasmus+ and ESC projects, as well as those volunteering in other local initiatives. This allows young people of different nationalities and backgrounds to network and thus create new communities, as well as form links between preexisting ones. The result of this is Europeans from all across the continent learn from each other's experiences and develop a clearer understanding of the challenges and circumstances of Europe overall. This harnesses a multicultural environment, whereby solidarity is formed between nations and cultures through friendship and cooperation. We continue to work on an international level of community in the sense of incoming volunteers can return home and use their new and improved skills and knowledge to become more active citizens of their own communities. They gain insightful intercultural experience that allows them to return home more equipped to be cultural ambassadors. We also use social media to maintain an online community between partners and volunteers. The online platform allows international communities to continue to flourish despite physical distance.
Specifically, it is implementation of the international personal development trainings, youth exchanges, experiential learning in the outdoors, teaching various technical skills, coaching, group moderation, communication skills, awareness programs, sports and community projects, to learn how to overcome physical and mental challenges that result in building self-esteem and discovering one`s own full capacities, which can later be transferred to everyday life. Emphasis is also given to realising social and environmental responsibility and feeling the impact of one`s actions on the group and society as a whole.
Our target groups are young people, youth workers and adults active in the field of youth work, youth coming from broken homes, youth with disabilities and coming from a disadvantaged background and minority groups. It is important to us that we facilitate and empower such vulnerable people so that they can be productive and valuable members of the community.
Our primary method of engaging our target group and involving them in the community is non-formal education. This involves but is not limited to such activities as experiential learning, learning through playing, personal development methods, outdoor education, creativity workshops, coaching, theatre and dance. This is a lifestyle affected by our team and is not limited to office hours.
