ZUM Association is an organization established in 2001 offering crucial support to youngsters in our community. Through various projects and initiatives, ZUM became recognized among youth, relevant stakeholders on local and national levels. Association ZUM has developed three programs: Info-center for youth ZUM, Activism in society, and Perpetuum Mobile. All three programs are recognizable in a local area.
Perpetuum Mobile: Since 2013. ZUM is oriented on the promotion of European programs and mobilities. ZUM is organizing informative campaigns for youth about European mobility opportunities and offering consultation and support in the process of mobility. Since then, ZUM was involved as a partner and applicant for more than 20 youth exchanges, training, we hosted 4 international volunteers, and promoted volunteering service.
Activism in society: The program aims to encourage the active participation of young people in the social and political life of the local community. In partnership with Volunteer Center Istria, acts Youth volunteer club which represents the local base of active volunteers. ZUM is giving support to young volunteers for creating and implementing their activities for the local community, especially for other young people. From the beginning, Youth club implemented all kind of volunteer actions and activities, for example: lecture about healthy eating for youth, humanitarian action for “Day center for addicts”, an organized volunteer fair, poetry evening, environmental cleaning actions, made a partnership with “Shelter for the homeless” where the volunteers go once a month, organized quiz and were included in creating and implementing two youth exchanges.
Since 2006, ZUM is implementing the project Info-center for youth ZUM: promoting lifelong learning through non-formal education programs, encouraging active participation of youth at the local/county level, raising awareness among young people about their rights and opportunities at national and EU level. ZUM is a member of the Croatian Youth Network (national youth council) and Eurodesk network (Info-point). Association ZUM was a major partner to the City of Pula in the process of making the Local Youth Program, which was created through a structured dialogue with young people and relevant stakeholders. Our vision: youth – initiators of positive social change. Our mission: to empower youth for personal development and active participation in society.
