The upbringing of AFPDM dates from 1991 with a purely formative feature, associated with the former dynamics of the then municipal economic structure such as the meat processing industry and cork. In order to extend the project of the former Professional School, it is constituted the AFPDM which intended to involve the representative living forces of the socio-economic and cultural reality of the municipality around it´s project. After 24 years, the performance of APFDM / EPM goes beyond the training intervention, extending their skills to social, cultural and economic intervention.Our Mission: AFPDM is an entity dedicated to the qualification of human resources of the region in which it operates, by intervention in education, training and socio-economic dynamics in different areas, establishing strategic partnerships, and functional dynamics.The Vision: The Association aims to stand out as a reference organization, innovative and competitive, basing its action for the good work practices and working methods in the development of training and providing consulting services. Continually improve the effectiveness of the Quality Management System. Performance of an active role in its social responsibility by promoting best practices in the area of sustainable development and the social area.AFPFM is divided in 3 main areas of intervention: 1. Education and Training area - involving a significant number of trainees and trainers not only in Vocational school but also in the Montijo Regional Arts Conservatory that as a specialized teaching music school proposes to form musicians, creators, teachers, but also listeners. AFPDM conceives also new actions related to information and disseminations of opportunities addressed to young people within the European Union, promoting information and guidance meetings in universities, schools and youth centres.We started working with Leonardo da Vinci Program in 2004 and since then we have sent already many people abroad to do work experience in several European countries. Also has a host organization we started to host youngsters in Montijo and because we belong to the Vocation School of the city, we establish a straight cooperation with the companies in our region, finding suitable work placements in the most diverse areas. We also have promoted in Montijo a wide range of youth european mobility projects, such as exchanges, seminars and international training courses under the framework of the former Communitarian Program “Youth in Action“.2. Support for the business community and integration into working life - working with two offices in school, one is intended to support, disseminating the programs in that the Employment Institute has to offer, unemployed young people and adults in the definition or development of its route regarding the integration or reintegration into the labor market and the other seeks to support companies inside the region in the development of training projects that seek to meet the their needs, providing a training service fit for all stakeholders in this service. 3. Social intervention area and community - AFPDM works with several local social projects, like "Tu kontas" project that promote health and social inclusion of children, youth and families, as well as of immigrants and ethnic minorities in the Municipality of Montijo, particularly in vulnerable socio-economic contexts among others. The Association for Vocational Training and Development Montijo is certified by APCER since 26 July 2011. The history and evolution of AFPDM / School Montijo Professional give evidence that this project is an example of entrepreneurship and a way to innovate with motivation and creativity.
