Beskrivelse af organisationen

Raulandsakademiet is both a course center for traditional handwork and a proud member of Hostelling International Norway. We are dedicated to preserving the rich variety of traditional arts and crafts found in Norway through our annual course offerings. We choose instructors that are known to be experts in their fields who are excited to actively share their knowledge with course participants. As a member of the Hostelling International family we participate in the global organization's goals of promoting peace through travel and cultural exchange. Throughout the year we arrange or facilitate concerts, markets, and other community activities that our guests are welcome to join. Our guests get more than just a place to sleep - they are invited in the world of Norwegian cultural heritage!The local college is also located in our building and we cooperate with students and faculty to support a vibrant student life. The primary focus of study at the college is folk art and music, attracting students from Norway and abroad.
