The Arbeiterkammer Tirol is a cooperation under public law and represents approx. 300.000 members in the region of Tyrol. The Chambers of Labour were founded in 1920 based on statute following the collapse of the Austrian-Hungarian monarchy.The Arbeiterkammer represents and supports employees in the professional, cultural, economical and social area.Our field of activities and support is very wide and includes codetermination and control of law-making, research on behalf of workers and consumers, information and counciling in law issues, cooperation within the social partnership, legal representation of employees, assistance and support in individual challenges and difficulties. We have a vital interest to support young people to become a successful part of our society.We have a total staff of 270 people, our headquarter is in Innsbruck and we run 8 offices in the region of Tyrol. Our instituion has different services towards the public: law, social issues, youth, European programmes, education,….We run the BFI-adult education centre, a conference centre, a residential home for apprentices and several other support institutions. The Arbeiterkammer Tirol is involved in European programmes since 2005.
