Associazione di Agraria.org is an association founded in Florence in 2013 by a group of young graduates in Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine . The association’s goal is to spread knowledge about agricultural and agro-food practices at both amateur and professional level, as well as to promote young graduates into agriculture and encourage them to run and manage their own farms.The Agraria.org Association was born as a non-profit tool from www.Agraria.org, a website that has been dealing with online agricultural education since 2002 and currently counts more than five million unique visitors per month.Agraria.org network:• Agraria.org association site (www.associazione.agraria.org)• Agraria.org forum (www.forumdiagraria.org), counting more than 30.000 users• Agraria.org magazine (www.rivistadiagraria.org), with more than 34.000 members registered on the newsletter• The Facebook page that counts respectively 12.000 and 4.000 “likes”• Agraria.org Twitter account with more than 7000 followersThe Agraria.org Association pursues the following objectives: • To promote the entry into employment of young graduates in agricultural and veterinary studies• To foster knowledge about agricultural and agri-food practices/technologies at both amateur and professional level • To instruct non-experts about specific agro-forestry environments• To promote rural culture in Italy• To provide operators in the agricultural sector with suitable tools for understanding and solving the main issues of agricultural production• To provide means and opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and ideas related to the world of agriculture• To support start-up businesses in the field by encouraging direct sales• To help spread the concept of short supply chain in order to promote and protect Italian agro-food products• To safeguard rare native breeds, species of livestock interest and agro-food products• To preserve and defend the forest’s natural heritage (fauna, flora, fungi) through the spread of information and technologies related to the recognition, protection and promotion of natural resources as a whole .• To improve food safety and consumer awareness • To organize meetings and social events that contribute to the exchange of ideas and expertise related to agriculture, with a particular focus on local knowledge and sustainable techniques, both ancient and modern• To organize meetings of Agraria.org forum members ( www.forumdiagraria.org ) Agraria.org is recognized by the EVS as a program committed to providing volunteers from every European background with the opportunity to acquire and develop new skills for their personal and professional growth, allowing them to contribute both actively and constructively to the development of a common European identity.
