Vedersø Idrætsefterskole is a unique school bringing the opportunities of a classic danish sports boarding school (efterskole) and an international school together. We aim to provide our students necessary skills, knowledge and attitude in the global world and help them to become the citizens of the world. Each year, at the international department, we have students coming from more than 20 nationalities. Learning about each others' cultures and lifestyles are one of the main aims of the year. We regularly have intercultural learning sessions to understand each other better and promote diversity. School intends to promote European values such as diversity, tolerance, equality and tackle against discrimination, racism, xenophobia, sexism.
The staff members and the volunteers are also coming from different cultural backgrounds.
Our students are teenagers from all around the world aged between 14-17. Besides academic classes, we organise many trips and activities to provide the opportunities for the students to develop themselves. Students are also actively take part in the daily life of the school and have to complete certain tasks such as cleaning their rooms and the common areas through the year which also improves their life skills. We are very inclusive, our target group is any young individual who is looking for opportunities to develop themselves and learn about the other cultures and the world we live in while making strong intercultural connections.
