The Nefiks Institute works with youth and NGOs by promoting and recording non-formal competences, youth empowerment, career youth work, citizenship/policy-making and NGO support.

The Nefiks Institute provides young people and youth organizations with the appropriate technical support for logging and recording of all non-formal learning. It also deals with the impact of youth work, with the aim to make it recognised in the society. Nefiks is also a name for an electronic logging book that marks and ranks various skills, knowledge, and experience of young people. It is available as an online portfolio, as well in a printed version. Individuals enter their work experience in the application. They can also enter employer recommendations, present education, active citizenship in the field of volunteering, experiences in foreign countries as well as other knowledge, skills and experience that may interest the potential employers. Nefiks provides updated information regarding skills and important knowledge for employment literacy, which enables youth a higher chance of employment.

Nefiks organises several programmes for the young job seekers. ''Colleagues« is a programme for young women, who want to get information and hear about the experiences directly from successful and influential women, who want to expand their knowledge and skills.

Nefiks leads the project Career Youth Center Vič, organised in a functional center for young people and Network KROJ, a link between key actors in the youth field. Network Kroj encourages young people to create their own career path. The aim of the network is to train youth workers and develop career opportunities for young people. Nefiks organizes workshops for first job seekers and students in order to help them decide about the proper education path as well as the career path that is the most suitable for them.

Nefiks also works as a regional NGO center, offering support for NGOs in the Osrednjeslovenska region in the form of workshops, organisational development, legal and informational support, advocacy, cooperation etc.
