Culture House of Rezekne National Societies was established in April, 2004. Established to preserve, integrate and develop culture of different nationalities that live in Rezekne, promote the consolidation of the community, introduce the community with the peculiarities and values of the national cultures and organise the spare time of city-dwellers. In Culture House of Rezekne National Societies is: Ukrainian choirs "Vodograj" and "Dva kolori", polish choir "Jutrzenka", Belorussian vocal group "Suzorje", Russian choirs "Beregini" and "Harmonija", Russian child folk dance studio "Rucejok" and child vocal folk group "Zdravinka", Theatre-studio "Jorick" and youth and child theatre studio. In Culture House of Rezekne National Societies works 25 specialists: managers, directors, artists, actors, sound director and teachers of music and dance. At the heart of the Culture House of Rezekne National Societies is Theatre-studio Jorik. Theatre-studio Jorik has been going for more then 25 years. In 1990, when Latvia became independent the group of young, creative actors decided to create semi-professional Russian theatre-studio in Rezekne, which is still working and producing new performances. Moreover, on the basis of the theatre exists children and youth studio of theatrical art under direction of Igor Mihailov, the honor worker of art. Youngsters represent national societies, which live in Rezekne: Russian, Ukrainian, Belorussian, Lithuanian and Polish teenagers are getting together to extend their knowledge of classical Russian theatre, to improve their oral speech, to develop plasticity and to overcome the fear of the stage. Young actors participate in different festivals and concerts, where they represent their ethnical group, in that way they save own culture and traditions and introduce it to others. Culture House of Rezekne National Societies work hours from 9.00 till 20.00. Rehearsals take place individually for each group.
