Rinascita Sociale Salam House is an independent non-profit organisation located in Naples, which mainly operates in the area of Naples. Rinascita Sociale Salam House was created in 1993 by a group of youngsters who, having been involved for years in the voluntary service, face day by day social and cultural problems of the new generations, in order to be protagonists of the future all together. We work at the local level, with the purpose to raise the passions and wishes of young people, promoting solidarity, associationism, communion between people, European awareness, and to create the right conditions to face and solve the major problems of the modern society. Rinascita Sociale Salam House, therefore, works to suggest new projects to the city, and decisive initiatives on culture, education, human rights, environment, the artistic and historical relaunch, entertainment, youth employment, justice, social alienation, etc. Rinascita Sociale Salam House is also involved into the promotion of studies and researches, it collects documents and training material on human rights education, development and co-operation between peoples. Our main purpose is to provide scope for people's intelligence and creativity, increasing places where social relations and cultural awareness are possible. Rinascita Sociale Salam House wants to be an active part in the society and in the consolidation of the voluntary service, in fact it has involved nearly 600 youngsters and many of them, who once were simple users, have become active participants in the life of our local community. Everyday activities are: afterschool support, family support, human rights education programmes, info centre for immigrants, helping centre for elderly people, seminars for young people, excursions, trips, theatre activities and cultural events, international and European projects (Erasmus +, etc.). The target groups of our activities are: children, young people, elderly persons, immigrants and trainers/educators. The organisation is also partner of the Europe Direct Naples held by the Municipality of Naples. The organisation manages a property confiscated from the mafias, where some of the activities are performed.
