Kuruluşun tanımı

ISCA is a democratic, non-governmental and not-for-profit umbrella association with 103 Europeanmember organisations and 240 member organisations worldwide. It was established in 1995 and has experienced sustained growth in membership and in turnover to a level of 2 million euro annually. ISCA has 17 staff members from 13 countries.

ISCA is Moving People! Our mission is to empower organisations world-wide to enable citizens to enjoy their Human Right to MOVE.

With a vision of “A world of physically active citizens in vibrant civil societies”, ISCA has been at the forefront of development and implementation of activities of specific European relevance. This can be seen by our long presence as a reliable partner and financial beneficiary of European Commission co-funded activities, for example:
• ISCA is currently leading two Erasmus+ Sport Collaborative Partnerships (Grassroots Sport Diplomacy and MOVE Beyond), one Preparatory Action in Exchanges and Mobility in Sport (EU-China Mobilities: Grassroots Sport in Schools, Clubs and Outdoors) and we are a partner or associate partner in another 7 Erasmus+ Sport Collaborative Partnerships.
• ISCA has implemented 5 Erasmus+ Sport Events such as MOVE Week, Flash MOVE, European Fitness Day and NowWeBike (Journey of Hope and Bike for Europe), with budgets ranging from 300,000 euro to 1,000,000 euro, and we are currently leading the Open Streets Day and co-leadingthe European School Sport Day®.
• ISCA is the designated National Coordinating Body for the European Week of Sport in Denmark since 2016.
• ISCA has successfully implemented projects from the Preparatory Actions in the field of sport including the SANTE (completed in 2011), EuroVolNet (completed in 2012), Good Governance in Grassroots Sport (GGGS – completed in 2013) and ACTIVE Network project (completed in 2014) with support from the same source.
• ISCA was the first European and international sport for all umbrella association to receive a community grant from DG SANCO for health promotion through a sports project (PATHE). PATHE has been followed-up by the DG SANCO supported project ‘Physical Activity Promotion Forum – TheMOVE Project’ (2011-2014).
• ISCA was the first sport organisation to receive structural support from the Youth Programme (2000-2006).
• ISCA received a large-scale youth grant for its comprehensive youth leader education programme (which led to the establishment of ISCA’s regular European Youth and Sport Forum - EYSF).
• ISCA has successfully delivered projects with support from the Europe for Citizens Programme, and numerous EVS and Youth in Action Projects, including two large scale multi-measure projects.

We understand that our primary target group is ISCA members, ie the NGOs that are providing physical activities for citizens, and it is primarily with our members we have direct collaboration and impact. We appreciate that we need to work with other stakeholders (governmental, private, media and other NGOs) to achieve our goals, scale solutions and to create the best conditions for physical activity. And we remember at all times that citizens are our ultimate target group. We call this our Conceptual Framework (which stems from our Theory of Change).

ISCAs strategy 2018-2021 is therfore based on three pillars
* Solutions and capacity building (exchange of knowledge and best practices in physical activity programmes and hands-on tools)
* Campaigns: NowWeMOVE: The NowWeMOVE Campaign is clearly citizens-focused, but it is delivered via ISCA members and MOVE Agents on national and local level.
* Advocacy: ISCA delivers international advocacy by addressing relevant international and intergovernmental bodies with key messages, built on evidence and membership input.
